Matthias est un réalisateur belgo-britannique passé d’une carrière primée en publicité internationale (deux Gold Cannes Lions pour des campagnes avec Nissan et PlayStation) à une immersion totale dans la fiction narrative. Son style, ancré dans l’authenticité et la profondeur émotionnelle, reflète son regard unique. Pour son premier projet télévisé il a co-écrit et co-réalisé la série This is not a murder mystery (Studio Canal UK, 2015) avec Hans Herbots (The Serpent). La série réinvente l’univers des surréalistes dans un thriller façon Knives Out rencontre The Great Gatsby. La série explore les débuts de figures iconiques comme René Magritte et Salvador Dalí dans le contexte culturel effervescent des années 1930. Matthias prépare également son premier long-métrage, The Fearless Tigers, en pré-production avec les producteurs des films oscarisés The Insult et Days of Glory. His debut TV series This Is Not A Murder Mystery (Studio Canal UK, 2025), co-created and co-directed with Hans Herbots the episodes 3 and 4 (The Serpent), reimagines the world of surrealist artists in a Knives Out meets The Great Gatsby whodunnit. Set in the vibrant 1930s, it explores the early lives of icons like René Magritte and Salvador Dalí, capturing their creative evolution within the eccentric world of surrealism. Matthias is also developing his first feature film, The Fearless Tigers, now in pre-production with the producers behind the Oscar-nominated films The Insult and Days of Glory. His focus remains on crafting powerful, original stories that blend commercial expertise with a deep commitment to authentic, character-driven narratives.
