Tansi Makele (@m.tansi) est un réalisateur franco-congolais originaire de la banlieue parisienne, dont le travail mêle la sensibilité du documentaire à l’esthétique du film de mode, avec une approche poétique et cinématographique. Grandissant en fan de films de genre, il développe très tôt un goût pour les atmosphères visuelles marquées, également influencé par les clips R&B afro-américains des années 90, notamment ceux réalisés par Mark Romanek pour Janet Jackson. Puisant dans son double héritage, il explore des thèmes liés à l’identité, la représentation afro-diasporique et la jeunesse. Il débute à 19 ans en réalisant des courts documentaires autour de la danse avant de se spécialiser en post-production, collaborant sur des projets de mode/luxe, de fiction et d’art vidéo. Inspiré par Khalil Joseph, Terrence Malick ou Spike Lee, il cherche à fusionner l’authenticité du documentaire avec une mise en scène visuellement captivante.

Growing up as a fan of genre films, he developed a taste for strong visual atmospheres early on, also influenced by 1990s African-American R&B music videos, particularly those directed by Mark Romanek for Janet Jackson. Drawing from his dual heritage, he explores themes related to identity, Afro-diasporic representation, and youth. He began his career at the age of 19 by directing short documentaries focused on dance before specializing in post-production, collaborating on fashion/luxury projects, fiction films, and video art. Inspired by Khalil Joseph, Terrence Malick, and Spike Lee, he seeks to merge the authenticity o documentary filmmaking with visually captivating storytelling.
